BOOKKEEPER / FINANCE ASSISTANT INTERN - PART TIME in London

We are not specifically looking for an Accounting & Finance Studier, any numerical background is welcome to apply. What we are really looking for is someone who can think outside the box, engage in thoughtful conversations and present fresh ideas. You’ll be working closely with the CFO and Finance Analyst in order to help run and restructure the finance function.

16 - 40 hours per week
Between £9.00 and £11.00 Per Hour

What are you going to do:

80% Transactional AR/AP/GL duties

  • Overall responsibility for company finance and accounting activities
  • Ensuring that payables, expenses and receivables are paid/collected according to terms/policies
  • Reconcile bank transactions in a timely manner
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and fixed asset register
  • Leading a monthly finance meeting with Directors and produce monthly reports
  • Month-end and year-end close process
  • Working with departmental heads regarding their financial activities and guide them on their financial performance and implications of financial outcomes
  • Examining all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
  • Creating and enhancing company financial policies and procedures
  • Ensuring compliance with tax requirements and accepted accounting principles, taking advice from the external accountant if necessary

20% Management analysis:

  • Drive the agenda on how finance department should add value to the business by partnering with other departments and providing valuable quantitative insights
  • Develop a vision about the company's strategy and help push execution
  • Be a valuable player on framing problems and cracking how to solve problems that hinder our growth
