CAD Engineer Vacancy An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CAD Engineer to join AIM Altitude based in Waterbeach, Cambridge. AIM Composites has a strong focus on production control and quality, with an ethos set deep in lean manufacturing, from purchase, engineering, project management, manufacture, quality, through to final release. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be required to be highly motivated to drive continuous improvement, with a can do attitude and a high standard of professionalism at all times. CAD: Key roles and responsibilities: The design of Composite Tooling, CNC fixtures, hand rout fixtures, templates and shop aids for the manufacture of composite components. Technical support to the Project Engineers to provide the most cost effective solution for design of tooling. Support sub-contract suppliers in the manufacture of tooling, working within timescales and budget. Support in the generation of lower level plans which determine the following key requirements: Full breakdown of project tooling requirement, to Identify all required tooling which include, mould, CNC fixtures, Assembly fixtures, assembly templates Tooling specifications to include all designs and cost effective methods of tooling manufacture. Support to the Estimating team during bid stage. General CAD support to shop floor & production personnel. Other supporting responsibilities as required: Generate BOM/Routings for manufacturing of tooling. Generation of Work and Product instructions for manufacture. Control data transfer for Sub-con manufacture. These are not conclusive however are considered to be the key responsibilities of this role. Graduates in Mechanical / Composite Engineering will be considered for this role in addition to candidates with previous work experience. Please apply online for the CAD Engineer vacancy.
