Electrical Maintenance Technician Overview My client are a family owned company who specialise in manufacturing advanced composite materials for numerous industries including aerospace, defence, automotive , marine, medical, and general engineering. Salary £24,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications) Working Hours 08:00am - 16:30pm Flexibility required + overtime 25 days holiday + bank holidays Company pension scheme The Position You will be responsible for supporting the Electrical Maintenance Engineer by undertaking scheduled maintenance of equipment in all areas throughout the facility. The position offers a great deal of variety and jobs differ on a day to day basis covering both reactive and proactive maintenance. Key responsibilities: Assisting with planning and undertaking scheduled / preventative maintenance in all areas of the facility Responding to breakdowns in a timely manner Assist with the diagnosing of faults and taking corrective action Repairing equipment and reducing downtime Controlling spare parts stock levels Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation Support the commissioning and ongoing support of any new equipment Support the reduction of cost in parts and repairs through improved and proactive planned preventative machinery maintenance Providing support out of hours when required Notify Supervisor or Manager of any safety hazards The above is a non-exhaustive list of duties, and you are expected to undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by your Manager Skills and Experience: Electro technical Level 3 NVQ or a formal UK electro technical apprenticeship Formal BS7671 qualification in the current edition of the wiring regulations 2 - 3 years previous experience in an electrical maintenance role or similar Work well under pressure Need to be reliable, flexible and have the ability to prioritise Be able to work on your own initiative Good fault finding and testing skills PLC system knowledge desirable Good working knowledge of Microsoft office tools for communication and reporting You will also have a standard-level education, have the relevant qualifications or experience, be punctual, conscientious, keen and have a practical approach to work.
