Trainee ABA Tutors
An exciting opportunity to join First Bridge; a newly formed Centre that will open across the UK to provide Multidisciplinary Diagnostic and Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention Services to children with autism spectrum disorder and other related conditions. We are looking for Graduates with a Psychology or Education background who are looking to train in to the role of ABA Therapist (Applied Behavioural Analysis). We will consider students who have experience working with children preferably in a SEN setting.
What are you going to do:
Implementing Client Treatment Plans
- Implementing treatment plans prepared by the BCBA across multiple domains including language and communication, social and play skills, adaptive functioning etc.
- Using systematic methods and behavioural strategies to support the client in changing their behaviour.
- Contributing to the development of ABA programmes established by the BCBA to teach and reinforce a variety of skills for children and young people in a 1:1 or small group setting.
- Assisting in conducting baseline measurements and other direct or indirect assessment measures as instructed by the BCBA
- Understanding the functions of behaviour and responding appropriately and safely when situations arise
- Learning and applying the principles of ABA
- Adhering to all ABA training, procedures and protocols
- Adapting to changing conditions and/or routine and provide creative solutions
- Creating a positive and engaging environment for the client
- Supporting clients with personal care tasks such as dressing, toileting and eating
- Maintaining the well-being and safety of the client while under their car
- Data Collection and Administration
- Tracking client progress through the collection of data and graphing while maintaining a safe and engaging environment for clients
- Completing incident reports in line with First Bridge policies and procedures
- Preparing teaching materials and organising the teaching environment, ensuring its cleanliness
- Recording exceptional circumstances, completing logs and tracking multiple behaviours
- Organising and maintaining programme binders for assigned clients, including communication notes, data and documents related to the client’s treatment plan
Training and Education
- Attending relevant clinical education opportunities to stay current in the field of ABA. Furthermore participating in any other relevant training such as induction, health and safety.

What we ask
- No minimum education required
- Degree in Education or Psychology (or related field)
- Current work experience in a special school / ABA school or a SEN unit within a mainstream school
- Ability to build rapport with clients and their families
- Strong problem solving/critical thinking skills as well as organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS disclosure will be required
- You may be required to travel within London to a clients home, school or other location
