Job description


Our Risk, Finance and Treasury Technology team (RFT) is a global division across the UK, US, India & Czech Republic. We deliver the technology services for RFT, working in partnership with business customers to develop and implement long term strategic IT solutions. We support more than 450 applications and a user base of over 7000+ staff.


We have a RFT Centre for Cloud Enablement role which will support the engineering of Cloud solutions across RFT as part of our Innovative agenda. This includes the build-out of new applications to the cloud, as well as the refactoring of existing applications for the cloud.


As a Cloud Engineer, you will support the identification of the business use cases that would delivery best value in a cloud architecture, prove viability and lead the delivery of proof of concepts.



• Support of individual migrations
• Act as the point of contact for application teams
• Deliver cloud solutions and technical designs
• Support teams with cloud adoption
• Ensure the team have an understanding of the operational requirements, design and implement infrastructure for delivering and running software services
• Build deployment and testing pipelines, as well as automated provisioning of cloud infrastructure
• Coaching wider teams in relation to cloud offerings.



• Delivered cloud solutions at scale (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Understanding of IaC using Cloud Formation, Terraform, and what tech stack will look like
• Solid understanding of infrastructure itself, especially OS knowledge (RedHat, Windows, Ubuntu)
• Able to communicate and collaborate on different time zones.



• Scripting exposure, using PowerShell, Perl, Ruby or Python
• Continuous Integration exposure, thorough understanding of how it works (CHEF, Puppet, Ansible, Jenkins)
• Happy and able to coach other teams within the business, dependent on our services
• Excellent communication skills.



You will be working at our technology hub in the North West, located at Radbroke Hall in Knutsford. It’s convenient for most people who live within a 35-mile radius, spanning from Liverpool, Chester, Manchester and Stoke. It’s a lively atmosphere with large open plan offices, with everything you need on site including various catering options, Starbucks, Gym, onsite parking etc.
