As a Kitchen Assistant, you will work 30 hours a week between Monday - Sunday and will have be under no stress.

Role - Kitchen Assistant
Location - Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire
Salary - £9.30 per hour
Hours - 30 hours a week, Part-Time
This role involves:
- To ensure that food preparation meets all health and safety standards and Adderley Green Care Centre Ltd Policies and Procedures.

To be aware of the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, having particular regard for the following practices:
- Fire prevention
- Prevention of back injuries
- COSHH
- Food hygiene
- Manage all stocks and stores ensuring all food is correctly marked and correct stock rotation systems are in place.
- To deal with all inquiries in such a way as to promote the goodwill of Adderley Green Care Centre Ltd
- To develop and maintain good relationships with the residents, relatives, and staff through regular contact giving information, support and advice whenever and as often as required
- To maintain concise records and provide reports as necessary
- To ensure that the heavy-duty kitchen equipment, light equipment, work areas, other facilities, and general surroundings are maintained and operate to the standards required by the Statutory, Local Authority and Health and Safety and Hygiene regulations and company’s policies.
- To assist Chefs, and to take responsibility of day to day cleaning tasks, washing up, general cleanliness of the kitchen daily.
- To ensure that safe methods of work are used at all times and that no unauthorized person cleans/operates certain specified equipment
To be successful in this role:
- Relevant qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar environment
- Previous experience in delivering a service on mass
- Basic food hygiene knowledge
- City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 (or equivalent) Basic Food Preparation Cooking
- Confidant in following instructions and using the equipment.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety and Fire Regulations.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Knowledge of menu planning and costing.
- Previous supervising experience.
- Capable of moderate physical activity, i.e. lifting saucepans, standing for long periods of time.
Where you will be working
Location: Dividy Road, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST2 0TN
You will be working at Adderley Green, which consists of two units. Moorcroft Manor is a specialist inpatient neurological rehabilitation and complex care service for people with neurological illnesses, acquired brain and spinal cord injuries, while Gladstone House is a specialist inpatient unit for people over 65 living with complex dementia.
Both units have extensive facilities catering for the specific needs of people aged over 18 years who have complex neurological care and rehabilitation requirements, and those who are above 65 and living with complex dementia.
You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver truly person-centered services where each individual is at the heart of everything.
