Introduction
Do you enjoy creating a clean environment for those who are less able? You will be joining the team at Bromley Road as a Housekeeper, working alongside the maintenance team to ensure all areas of the site are spotless.Reporting to the Senior/Lead Housekeeper, you will work 16 hours during the weekend ensuring hospital is well presented and cleaned.

You will be working alongside the maintenance team to ensure all areas of the service are spotless and be able to confidently deliver high standard cleaning services. You will be responsible for reporting any damages or faults that you may find to your manager.
 
Role – Weekend Housekeeper
Location – Catford, London
Salary – £7737.60
Hours – 16 hours during the weekend
 
Your responsibilities
  • Performing cleaning and domestic duties in all areas of the hospital including OT shed
  • Completing domestic duties using the cleaning materials and equipment as trained, ensuring Health and Safety aspects are taken into consideration
  • Reporting any faults with materials or equipment immediately to the Head Housekeeper or Ward Manager.
  • Reporting any accidents or incidents which may occur on hospital premises to the Nurse In Charge
  • Wearing protective clothing and appropriate footwear at all times while on duty
  • Maintaining floors and carpets throughout the hospital, including deep cleaning through the use of a carpet extraction machine
  • Cleaning and damp dusting rooms, furniture and fittings
  • Washing crockery and cooking utensils
  • Carrying out refuse collection as required
  • Maintaining equipment and machinery in a clean condition and reporting any faults to the Head of Housekeeping, Nurse in Charge or to Reception
  • Maintaining equipment and cleaning product storeroom and stocks
  • Undertaking any training deemed appropriate by management
  • Undertaking any other duties commensurate with the post, as directed by the Head of Housekeeping
To be successful in this role, you'll need
  • No qualifications necessary but some previous experience within a similar setting is desirable
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team 
Where you will be working
Location: 84-86 Bromley Road, Catford, London, SE6 2UR
You will work at Bromley Road, a rehabilitation service for men and women with enduring mental health issues, complex needs and complicated addiction problems. People in your care may include those who have a forensic history and those who are detained under the Mental Health Act.
You will work alongside the multidisciplinary team to deliver positive support and risk reduction strategies, as well as providing opportunities for social inclusion and building skills for independent living. 
The team at Bromley Road work alongside service users, supporting them in their therapy programmes, building coping strategies and increasing their life skills. The aim at Bromley Road is to keep the length of stay to a minimum by planning discharge at the point of admission. Communication with families and valued support networks are encouraged by an experienced and values led staff team.
