Health and Social Care Apprentice – Level 2

Salary: Band 2 £18,005 - £19,337

Are you caring and compassionate?

Are you looking to start your career in care and your knowledge of health and social care?

We are looking for dedicated, compassionate and hard-working individuals who are keen to work towards their Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care as an apprentice.

This exciting opportunity has arisen to be an apprentice who will work across different placements in the sector.

We are recruiting to three apprenticeship programmes:

  • Mental Health

  • Primary Care

  • Elderly Care

You will be employed by Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust during your apprenticeship.

You will rotate around organisations that offer services that relate to your specialism. Here, you will develop your skills and competencies in different environments and gain a valuable insight on how we work together in health and social care to provide services to our local population.

You will be working alongside experienced care givers (including, healthcare support workers, nurses, therapists, pharmacists to name a few!) and learn how to provide high quality care to patients.

MPFT will be your host (employing) organisation, but as you will be part of a rotational apprenticeship scheme you will undertake placements at organisations such as hospices, general practices, pharmacy, care homes, NHS trusts and Local Authorities.

Please note it is essential that you are able to drive in order to travel amongst your placements.

The scheme has been created to give apprentices the opportunity to train and develop across all areas of the sector, sharing good practice and finding new ways of improving health and social care services for everyone in our communities.

You may be required to work shifts between 7a.m. until 10p.m. (and nights for some services if you are 18 years and over). Services run for 365 days of the year.

The apprenticeship programme is 14 months (including college and examination time) and you will work 37.5 hours per work. As part of the apprenticeship programme you will be given study leave once a week to attend College whilst working towards your diploma.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to start a career in the sector and you will be supported throughout the programme to achieve your highest potential.

At the end of the Level 2 apprenticeship there are opportunities for the right candidates to move onto their Level 3 apprenticeship.
