Oncology & Haematology Directorate
Sobell House is an NHS hospice within Oxford University Hospitals Trust specially designed to provide care and support for patients with advanced incurable disease along with their families. Our work is enhanced through the support of the Sobell House Hospice Charity. We provide specialist palliative and end-of-life care aiming to focus on quality of life and respecting the uniqueness of each person.
We are seeking motivated Registered Nurses with sound personal values and excellent communication skills. This role requires an enthusiastic, committed and professional approach to the smooth delivery of safe, high quality nursing care, ensuring the best patient and family experience. Candidates should be excellent team players with the ability to use their own judgement to resolve issues. They should also have well developed interpersonal skills and a sensitive approach to dealing with difficult and upsetting situations. They should be able to work well under pressure with a flexible approach to work, and a willingness to suggest ideas for improvements. Candidates will be able to demonstrate compassion, commitment and competence to deliver high standards of care.
Successful candidates can look forward to working in a professional environment with a team that is passionate about delivering outstanding palliative care to patients and their families. There will be many opportunities for personal and professional development. There is also the option to rotate between the specialties of Haematology and Oncology for those staff wishing to do so.
