About the role

Tesco Maintenance are recruiting a Roofing Maintenance Manager within our Building Services team to lead a team to deliver exceptional service to our customers across the wider business working collaboratively with maintenance colleagues to deliver non-negotiable store standards.

You will be responsible for
  • Manager of an internal roofing team
  • Helping to develop the long term / short term roofing category strategy
  • Roof safety
  • You will be assessing current category of work and build/recruit team
  • Guaranteeing our all our premises are safe to work, shop and visit whist also ensuring that all works are carried out in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Putting community, customer and colleague welfare at the heart of every decision I make
  • Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence
  • Communicating with my team and the wider business team
  • Driving problem solving, including identifying key issues and developing effective solutions
  • Building a great team around me via 121’s, coaching and developing and other people management duties
  • Working alongside our National Operations Centre to manage the Maintenance Engineers workload and deployment in addition to their KPIs, vehicles, tools etc.
  • Delivering non-negotiable great results whilst providing exceptional service and standards, demonstrating clear year on year improvement
  • Providing technical support to my team and the business as a whole in my field of expertise
  • Delivery of my overall budget via controlling maintenance costs and budget planning relating to people, store and 3rd party expenditure
  • Supporting change within the business to ensure continuously improved performance
  • Building effective relationships and communicating clearly with my stakeholders, managing expectations where required
  • Monitoring and ensuring compliance with statutory safety regulations across my people
You will need
  • Experience of single-ply roofing systems and overlays
  • Some experience of liquid plastic roofing repairs
  • Good stakeholder management, and budget management

Essential experience:

  • MIOR membership
  • NEBOSH construction H&S
  • NVQ Level 3 - Roofing
  • The ability / flexibility to work in a national role
  • UK driving licence
  • Microsoft office suite
