The two Trusts joined together to provide integrated mental health, physical health and learning disability services to communities.

Salary – £19,737 - £21,142

Hours per week – 37.5

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust has been an integral part of the response to the current COVID-19 Global Pandemic for the Gloucestershire region, by providing a testing service for NHS staff and associated Integrated Care Service partners, utilising the services of our local laboratory. The COVID-19 testing service was created in February 2020 and has continued to provide a service in a variety of settings, which includes POD-based drive through, home visits and clinic settings.

We are looking for a clinical support worker to join our developing team who deliver COVID-19 testing support to a variety of people. This role will support the clinical provision of COVID-19 Testing, which includes PCR throat and nose swabs and potentially venepuncture at *Edward Jenner Court in Gloucester (*location of team TBC). Day to day tasks will also involve processing of referrals, liaising with service users to arrange appointments, providing clear instructions to those attending the testing POD as well as communicating with other professional requiring support from the service.

You will need to maintain high levels of professionalism while being encouraging and supportive with service users from all backgrounds, as well as inspiring a positive team dynamic to support a service subject to change at short notice. Therefore, the post holder must communicate effectively with patients and carers, recognising the need for alternative methods of communication to overcome different levels of understanding, cultural background and preferred ways of communicating

Administrative tasks within this role will include using Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word as well as clinical systems such as SystmOne, PACS and ICE. There will be periods of dealing with a high volume of calls from service users, carers and other professionals.

In addition to work performed at *Edward Jenner Court (*TBC), the role will incorporate a range of settings and locations such as client homes, clinics and residential settings. The multi-disciplinary team consists of Nurses, Allied Health Care Professionals, Health Care Assistants and Administrative staff

As a Health Care Assistant/ Support Worker you will be responsible for participating and assisting in the delivery of care / services to patients and service users as part of a Health Service. Health Care Assistant, Social Care Workers and other Healthcare Support Workers employed by the Trust are required to follow the guidance set out in Code of Conduct for Health Care Assistants/ Health Care Support Workers to provide safe and compassionate care of a high standard, and to challenge others who are not. You will receive direct supervision and partake in reflective practice / training on a regular basis and be required to meet the Care Certificate standards.

This post requires the post holder to be able to undertake all statutory and mandatory training and post holders must be able to undertake physical interventions. Fitness for physical intervention will be assessed by Occupational Health.
