Pinhoe View is a new purpose-built facility where a range of mental health services are provided for adults with acute mental health conditions across two wards and eight individual flats. The service is due to open in March 2021, you will be working at Wellesley Hospital in Wellington as an interim. 

Reporting to a Registered Psychologist, you will be guided and supervised as you assist with assessments, formulations and treatments to people within a group and 1-1 setting. 
 
As a Psychologist Assistant, you will assist in clinically related administration, conduct of audits, collection of statistics, development of audit and/or research projects, teaching and project work.
 

Your responsibilities

  • To hold a caseload of clinical work, including carrying out individual psychological intervention
  • Undertake collaborative risk assessment and management for individual patients and to provide general advice
  • Carry out these duties in consultation with the Lead Psychologist and identified supervisor, and contribute to the maintenance and development of a high quality psychological service

To be successful in this role, you'll need

  • Experience of working within a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit/Acute Mental Health Setting
  • 2:1 Psychology degree
  • To meet professional practice expectations and the BPS code of ethics
  • A BPS accredited recognised degree in Psychology conferring Graduate Basis for Registration (GBR)
