We are a registered care and support charity that offers services to just over 6000 people within the Midlands. These services include supporting people within registered care, domiciliary care, people with learning difficulties, those with mental health issues, young people at risk, older people, BME groups, people at risk of being homeless and those fleeing domestic abuse. Trident has over 50 years of delivering homes, services and innovation in some of the most disadvantaged communities in the Midlands. It employs more than 800 staff, works with over 150 volunteers and provides training places and apprenticeships for many more.

About the role

The Crisis Intervention Worker will be working closely with individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis and/or episodes of psychological/emotional distress. The main purpose of the role is to assist individuals through appropriate person-centred interventions to be able to address and help de-escalate their immediate crisis experience.

Due to continual growth within are support services we are currently looking to recruit for a Crisis Intervention Worker for are site based at Oak Paddock in Shrewsbury. Oak Paddock is a 4 bedded Crisis House based in Racecourse Lane, close to the Redwoods Centre. The remit is to support the Operational Lead and the Team in providing therapeutic support to those referred by the Crisis Team and Community Mental Health Teams.

About you

* Previous experience working in the mental health field, with experience of supporting people to be in control of their lives either in a paid or voluntary capacity.

* Knowledge and understanding of the social determinants that can lead to poor mental health.

* Have flexibility to participate in a varied rota and shift patterns which will include sleep ins/waking nights and 24/7 support

* Able to demonstrate the ability to work with strong values and work within a recovery approach framework

* Good communication skills both verbally and non-verbally

* A working knowledge of Mental Health legislation

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft IT applications
