Job Description

Our Drilling team is looking for an entry level Assistant Field Engineer to come join our team to get trained on how to undertake drilling activities for our environmental and geotechnical projects and complete work in this area.

To joins us as an Assistant Field Engineer, you will not need any previous experience in drilling, but should be someone who enjoys a hands-on, outdoor job. As an Assistant Drillers you will support the Lead Driller on completing drilling projects, which will include driving to the drilling site, setting up and advancing boreholes using a range of drilling equipment (rotary drilling, dynamic/windowless sampling), collecting samples, installing monitoring equipment, making the work areas safe, following H&S procedures and other ad hoc duties.

The role will require you to travel to sites across the UK during the working week and stay local to the drilling site Monday-Friday. PPE and Accommodation/Travel expenses will be provided.

As part of your career development, you will receive training from day one to become a competent Assistant driller and will be enrolled on an NVQ on completion of your probationary period. For those wishing to progress further in-house training, Apprenticeships and NVQ's in Land Drilling will be available to allow you to work towards becoming a qualified Lead Driller.

Requirements

* You must be a motivated person, who enjoys a hands-on, outdoor jobs. Experience as a labourer, delivery driver, trade person, meter installer, etc. is beneficial but not required.

* A driving licence is essential, ideally supplemented with Category B+E, C1+E, or C entitlement.

* Ability to stay away from home Monday-Friday. Accommodation, Travel and Food allowance will be provided.

* Basic IT Skills

* The following competencies/accreditations would be beneficial: CSCS, SPA/PIA, Personal Track Safety (PTS). The required training will be provided in any event.
