Job description

I am currently looking for a Group Fleet & Plant Manager to join a successful and rapidly expanding construction business

Duties include -

- Oversee and manage staff to ensure daily operations of Group Plant / Fleet Department are providing services to match customer service requirement

- Manage Group O Licence requirements in accordance with Highways Commissioner

- Manage six weekly inspection yearly plan and ensure work is carried out

- Manage trailer inspection yearly plan and ensure work is carried out
- Plant / Vehicle servicing to be completed in line with Group requirements

- Ensure all Group Plant items are calibrated within dates as required

- Ensure fleet items are serviced and records are kept up to date and on file.

- Ensure Insurance database in maintained and upto date (MID)

- Manage, oversee planning of planned preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance on all items of fleet/plant to maximise their lifespan and ensure safety.

- Manage mutli depot fleet requirements

- Approve job sheets to ensure the correct allocation of time and materials have been recorded.

- Costings of Job cards & daily production levels.

- Stock control of Garage Parts costs

- Source new supplier/ reduce external spending

- Weekly Reporting of Plant Hire Revenue Internal and External

- Plant / Fleet utilisation reporting to Senior Management Team

- Establish a Fleet business plan with is monitored and updated with provides retime data for the senior manager team

- Manage proactively the supply chain of Plant / Vehicles and disposal / return of end of contract / life vehicles

- Analyse current Plant / Fleet systems and processes and make recommendations to improve our performance and efficiency

- External supplier works authorisation and approval

- Company presentation, branding, painting etc.

- Vehicle Trackers / Dash Cam monitoring, review driving style i.e. harsh braking etc with summary reports

- Ensure FORS accreditation is maintained

- Authorisation of work overtime, signed off.

- To make sure Plant Hire Ltd is run in conjunction with the Companies Quality Assurance procedures.

- Identifying and proposing possible money saving/making opportunities within the Company, e.g. improve profitability

- Manage unplanned work resulting from breakdowns and emergencies, making sure they are dealt with in efficient manner by prioritising as required for the provision of a 24 hour callout service.
