A unique opportunity to be the founding Principal of a brand new Ark school in West London.

Ark Soane Academy will be a non-selective secondary academy in Ealing, close to two Ark primary schools - Ark Priory Primary Academy and Ark Byron Primary Academy, and one Ark secondary school - Ark Acton Academy. The school will open in September 2021 with a first cohort of 180 Year 7 students, filling each year until reaching its full capacity in 2027.

The academy was originally scheduled to open in September 2020, but unable to do so due to delays with the new build caused partially due to the Covid situation. The building is now fully on track for September 2021 and a fantastic team of staff was appointed in anticipation. Staff have been redeployed elsewhere in the network for the current academic year and will return in September 2021. The founding Principal, Jo Facer, has taken on a permanent role leading one of our academies in North London, hence our need for an appointment. Given the timing of the new appointment, we are delighted to have appointed fantastic staff and the new Principal will find them a delight to work with.

Ark's approach is built on its six pillars - High Expectations, Excellent Teaching, Knowing Every Child, Breadth for Depth, Exemplary Behaviour and Always Learning. The founding Principal will have the opportunity to implement these pillars in the new school and will be supported by the regional team and wider network.

Ark's Base Curriculum and Great Teacher Rubric will provide the new team with exceptionally high-quality resources and approaches and will be the foundation on which the new school is built. We are intent on establishing a school that provides a standard of education on a par with the very best nationally.

Appointing the right Principal is key to this. We are therefore seeking someone with a genuine alignment to Ark's pillars, a Principal who is collaborative and sees the significant benefits of being part of an aligned network.

Salary: Highly competitive package, negotiable according to experience
