Behaviour Buddy

One of our schools in Hackney is looking to recruit a Behaviour Buddy to work with a child in Years 5 & 6 with Challenging Behaviour. The candidate needs to be available to trial ASAP. The position is full-time and long-term commencing from Monday 4th January.

The Role:

A Behaviour Mentor is a tailored intervention role and is designed to help pupils reach their full potential whilst keeping them in schools instead of them being referred to Pupil Referral Units, SEND Schools or Alternative Provisions. As a Behaviour Mentor, your role will be helping challenging students overcome their behavioural issues, whilst acting as a role model and someone to look up to. A Behaviour Mentor works on a full time basis supporting student's behaviour and learning inside and outside of the class, this is primarily a class based position however it's very likely you will end up doing 1:1 withdrawal sessions at some stage in order to maintain the progress of student's behaviour and learning.

Although not necessary, we believe candidates with experiences in the following areas would be excellent applicants for the Behaviour Mentor role:

*SEN

*Challenging Behaviour / Behaviour Management

*Learning Support

*SEMH

*Sport Coaching

*Teaching Assistant

Requirements:

You must be able to Interview and Trial for Longer Term Positions

You must also be in possession of a Child Workforce DBS (registered on the Update Service) or willing to apply for one
