About the team
Florence ward is a 15 bedded mixed gender acute inpatient unit which was originally opened in April 2020 as a Covid positive acute admission ward. Florence has been operating as an acute inpatient ward since mid-May 2020 till end of October 2020 due to lack of demand for Covid positive beds. Florence has now been steeped up as an acute Covid ward from early November as demands for Covid beds continues to increase. Florence ward is running as a hot isolation unit for Covid positive patients now. This could be reverted to acute if no further demands for Covid beds.
