Hospital Cleaner/Domestic Assistant (Bank) - COVID-19 in Swansea

Job description

Welcome to Swansea Bay University Health Board. We welcome applications from people who share our values: caring for each other, working together and always improving.

Swansea Bay University Health Board reserve the right to close vacancies after 24 hours if a large number of suitable applications are received. We encourage early applications to ensure consideration for a post.

Prior consideration for this vacancy will be given to staff currently awaiting Redeployment and we therefore reserve the right to withdraw this advert at any stage.

Applications may be submitted in Welsh. Applications submitted in Welsh will not be treated less favourably than an application submitted in English.

We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to assist in the day to day running of the Support Services Department within within the Swansea and Neath areas.

You must have the ability and initiative to work both on your own and as part of a team. Good communication and customer service skills are paramount, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Being a cleaner in our hospitals is a special job. Our cleaners are key members of teams, working together with clinical staff to support the wellbeing of patients while they are in hospital. This is because a sparkling clean environment not only makes a hospital stay more pleasant - it also helps keep infections at bay.

Cleaning in a hospital requires skills over and above a typical cleaning job, so we also provide free specialist training to give you that extra knowledge. The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of cleaning standards and COSHH but full training will be provided for this post.

If you are based at one of the field hospitals (either in LLandarcy or the Bay), you will be expected to undertake training and if necessary gain experience on the main hospital sites.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

If you have applied for this role recently from a previous campaign you do not need to apply again as we are continuing to contact individuals from the earlier campaign.
