Job Title:Trainee psychological wellbeing practitioner

Salary:Salary Band 4 AfC £21,892
Hours: Full time - 37.5 hours per week
Fixed term: contract from March 2021- March 2022 following which Trainee PWP's who have successfully been awarded the qualification can apply for vacancies within IAPT as a qualified PWP.
Purpose of the job:
Coventry and Warwickshire Mind is seeking applications from individuals who are keen to undertake the training that is delivered to become a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) within the Coventry and Warwickshire IAPT Service. The service is delivered in partnership with Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust.
Potentially we will be able to offer a number of training places, commencing March 2021. Selected applicants will initially attend an in-house interview. If successful at interview, you may be required to complete a short application to the University from which, if shortlisted, you may be required to participate in an applicants' selection process details of which have yet to be confirmed.
Further information regarding the applicant's day will be given to the successful applicants.
PLEASE NOTE - The timescales for this recruitment process are very short. We would ask that you do not apply if you cannot commit to start the course towards the end of March 2021.
If offered a place, the post-holder will be trained and supervised to provide evidence based stepped care interventions to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression.
At the time of posting this advert we do not know who the training provider will be. However, we expect the training to involve a combination of University online education, self-directed study, and in-service clinical work within the IAPT service.

What are the entry requirements?
There are two training routes:
1. Postgraduate Certificate qualification route
A degree in a relevant subject or equivalent (e.g., Registered Nurses and AHPs)
1. Graduate Certificate route
2 Advanced Level GCEs or equivalent (e.g., B-tec, GNVQ, NVQ Level 3 and 4)
In order to meet the clinical competence requirements of the course, all trainees, ideally, will work full time (37.5hrs per week). However, you will be required to complete 1 day at University, 1 day of directed learning and three days in clinical practice offering assessment and low intensity treatment to patients presenting with common mental health problems such as depression and anxiety and one at university. You will also receive appropriate Case Management Supervision and Reflective Clinical Skills Supervision.
Trainees will be allocated to one of 3 locality teams based in Nuneaton (covering North Warwickshire), Stratford (covering South Warwickshire) or Coventry (covering Coventry and Rugby) - please be aware you could be allocated to any of these locations.
Applicants are required to have:
Evidence of an appropriate qualification and significant experience of working with people who have suffered with a mental health problem (minimum 2 years)
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The ability to complete a one-year academic training course
Excellent computer skills

Due to the large geographical area covered by the service, the successful applicants are required to have access to an independent means of transport for business use.
