Instrument Maintenance Technician - Yorkshire - £Neg - Contract - L/term

An opportunity has arisen for an accomplished Instrument Maintenance Technician, to join a leading chemical manufacturer. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of instrumentation activities including instrument calibration, SIL checks, both on a proactive and reactive basis so to ensure continued safe operation and productivity on site. There will also be a need for electrical knowledge as will be involved in powering up instruments as well and some lower-level electrical work.

As an apprentice trained technician, you will be able to point to a background in repair and fault finding in a similar hazardous manufacturing environment- supporting installation, maintenance and calibration of all instrument across the site.

Responsibilities

* Installation, maintenance, test, calibration and commissioning of all instrument equipment

* Support improvement projects

* Planned maintenance is carried out effectively and downtime reduced

Required

* Instrument maintenance experience in chemical or similar process manufacturing environment

* Troubleshooting/ problem-solving skills

* Ideally 17th Edition wiring regulations but not essential

* Knowledge of ATEX regulations, CompEx qualified is essential

* Understanding of Safety Instrumented Systems

* Knowledge of control loops and control logic

* DCS/ PLC experience
