My client is committed to supporting the right candidate and once settled, the role will involve input to the design and build of the products, verification of prototype performance against customer specifications and liaising with NPI and manufacturing teams to introduce the product to manufacture. This individual will work closely with other members of the design team, including optical and electronic engineers, test and process development engineers giving them some great experience within different disciplines.
As a Graduate Development Engineer - Hardware/Firmware your role could include:
-Becoming part of the team responsible for the sustaining of products to maximise revenue from these product lines.
-Working with hardware, firmware, and test teams to introduce new features, fix issues and maintain high yield.
-Defining and building R&D test platforms and creating test scripts
-Design verification testing and characterisation of optical transceivers in later phase of development, and creation of test reports.
-Supporting qualification activities
To apply for this Graduate Development Engineer - Hardware/Firmware position you must have a combination of the following:
Education/Qualification - Minimum:
-Honours degree or equivalent in physics, optics, electronics, or equivalent technical discipline
Skills/Competencies Desirable:
-Analogue and digital design knowledge.
-Embedded Coding (C/C++) Experience.
-ADVANTAGEOUS: Optical Communication systems, components, or Design Experience.
-ADVANTAGEOUS: Any experience you have in industry is a plus, internships, sandwich courses etc.
My client is very keen on candidates who have studied in/around the Devon area (e.g. Exeter, Plymouth), or who have lived in the area for a significant amount of time.
