Scrub Nurse / Theatre Practitioner / ODP

Darlington - Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

I'm seeking a Theatre Practitioner to join their team in their operating theatre department located in Darlington, covering a range of surgeries including knee, orthopaedics, ACL surgery and ophthalmic surgery.

The Theatre Practitioner's role is a full-time role with a flexible shift pattern and applications from candidates seeking part time work may be considered.

The successful Theatre Practitioner will put patient care at the heart of everything they do and as a qualified practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration they will use their skills and knowledge to work well within a team, adopting a flexible and collaborative approach at all times.

This is a busy hospital with over 20 beds and 10 consulting rooms offering complex surgery as well as minor surgery and ambulatory care.

Candidates will be keen to learn and develop new skills and continue to grow their career and applications are welcome from different backgrounds such as Scrub, Anaesthetics and/or Recovery.

Theatre Practitioner skills and experience:

Flexible and adaptable with strong interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with attention to detail
Possess a caring and professional patient focussed attitude
Ability to work in a team as well as being able to use own initiative when required
Strong work ethic which includes being reliable and punctual
Experience of customer care, including interacting with customers in challenging situations
Previous experience working within an acute healthcare environment
Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration
ILS
Mentorship qualification Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence
Proficient in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.In addition, Advanced Scrub Practitioner qualification or ALS previous qualification in healthcare is desirable but not essential.
