Delivery Manager in London

As we continue to build our brand-new Engineering Team in London, the Delivery Manager will be pivotal in what is an exciting period of growth within the organisation, taking responsibility for our new re-platforming project. As part of a growing agile team, you will have the ability to help shape our working practices as well as take a key role in leading new projects that will revolutionise the business. 

 

Reporting to our Director, Engineering, the role will involve working collaboratively with our London Engineering and Product teams, as well as our nearshore developers in EMEA and our IT team based in Memphis, US. This position will be responsible for overseeing the development and optimisation of a range of new and existing digital products with a spotlight on transforming our digital offering. Initially this particular focus will be on the delivery of the new web application rollout across our global customer base. Our passionate fledgling team aim to create a dynamic and high performing culture, putting Quality and Excellence at the heart of everything we do. 

 

Responsibilities Include: 

 

  • Contribute to the scoping and planning of new projects and subsequently manage the technical delivery of such, using appropriate agile project management methodology
  • Work with the Project Stakeholders and Product Owners to define the roadmap for given products
  • Co-ordinate cross-team efforts to ensure projects are adequately scoped and resourced for delivery. Collaboratively lead the planning process, prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team
  • Report progress, remove blockers and ensure timely delivery of projects whilst constantly promoting agile working practices. 
  • Manage delivery of projects across the teams, tracking progress against the Sprint Plan and Project Plan 
  • Ensure all testing is conducted, from Systems Integration Testing through to End-to-End Testing, Regression Testing and facilitating User Acceptance Testing
  • Conduct ongoing Risk / Issue Management, communicating risks and issues and working with stakeholders to agree actions or mitigations.
  • Ensure a smooth transition into live operations, managing service introduction activities with support teams where necessary, and providing support during the initial period following implementation. 
  • Work with and manage any third parties engaged as part of the delivery applying the same values, principles and methods as the internal team.
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution, as well as demonstrating effective use of timeboxing.
  • Provide management reporting on the delivery and budget status of projects and products.

 

Qualifications / Experience 

 

  • Educated to degree level or similar within an IT / IT related discipline 
  • Experience at mid-level, this will suit somebody who is looking to further develop their career within the IT Project Management and Delivery landscape.
  • Skilled in delivering multiple long- term projects with demonstrable experience in Agile delivery principles and practices.  
  • Highly proficient in Cloud (preferably Azure) and on prem delivery 
  • Very experienced developing web and/or mobile apps
  • Expert in managing workshops, discovery activities and incident management 
  • Accomplished in accurate forecasting and planning 
  • Ability to promote empowerment of the team, ensuring each team member is engaged in the project and making meaningful contributions, encouraging a sustainable pace with high levels of quality across the team.  
  • Solid proven experience in successful matrix project- managing across multidisciplinary teams  
  • Practiced in balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity 
  • Open collaborative communication style and confident presentation skills 
  • Excellent project leadership skills, with an ability to motivate and drive success in others 

 


Remote working is available but you must be flexible to attend the office as and when required.
