REED Care are currently recruiting for an Elective Care Delivery Senior Manager for the Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Role Details

- 6 month opportunity

- BAND 8c (£434 per day) x 37.5 hours per week, but will consider either one day a week working from home or a condensed week

- Ideally Immediately Available

JOB PURPOSE

The post holder will lead, in liaison with the Divisional Manager and Care Group teams, to ensure the delivery of elective care, Orthopaedic and Outpatient restart and Independent sector programmes.

The Elective Care Service Manager will be responsible for the recovery and delivery of elective care work streams, specified transformation, programmes to deliver nationally identified access targets at divisional and Trust wide level.

The post holder will provide leadership in relation to elective care recovery work programmes working with Trust senior leadership and care group teams to deliver access and waiting time recovery targets, service quality improvements and maximise options for effective resource and financial management, as determined by the Divisional Management team and Trust Directors.

To provide regular programme reports to the Divisions, Executive Team, and committees.

To represent Divisional Managers at internal and external stakeholder meetings, when required

Reporting to the Family Services Divisional Manager the Elective Care Service Manager will:

  • provide programme / project leadership, direction and oversight to the Nationally phased programme of elective care recovery.
  • as part of the National Adapt and adopt programme of work lead specific areas of transformation, quality improvement to ensure internal and external recovery groups deliver identified recovery targets
  • undertake effective system working across the elective care programme of work
  • take a leadership responsibility of the day to day management of Independent Sector Provider insourcing and outsourcing contacting.
  • provide programme and performance reports which enable clear activity and performance tracking, monitoring and programme deliver assurance.

Responsibility for External Relationships and System Working

  • Externally, relationships will be with local and regional commissioners, national reporting bodies, regional clinical networks, general practices, Independent sector providers and other system/ local providers of health and social care.

Responsibility for Policy and Service Development

  • Good knowledge of health care and related policies and processes
  • A sound understanding of NHS priorities, including national, local and Trust targets
  • Ensure that Trust policies and processes are adhered to so that NHS statutory requirements are met
  • Ensure adherence to National and Trust policies in relation to Elective Care patient Access.
  • Work in collaboration with other agencies to promote system wide development and solutions
  • Take responsibility for the production, development and implementation of policies within area of responsibility, which will impact at service and organisational level

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

  • Masters degree/evidence of study at equivalent level/similar experience
  • Post graduate management qualification or equivalent
  • Certificate in improvement methodologies

EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

  • Proven managerial and clinical leadership experience at a senior level within the NHS where the post holder has led and managed a multitude of clinical areas/and or departments
  • Significant experience of budgetary management (with evidence of control)
  • A track record of leadership, performance improvement and organisational change
  • Experience of working in a fast moving and unpredictable environment
  • Experience of developing new services
  • Patient and public involvement in service design
