Job description

Our client is a leading service based business, who are instantly recognisable within the market place. With offices within the North Leeds area, this business have experienced a strong period of growth and as a result are looking to grow the long standing, existing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone that has previous transactional experience/basic exposure to accruals/prepayments to secure a role with full study support and will be involved in management accounts over the long term. Full training will be provided and there is lots of opportunity to progress and develop.

As the Junior Accountant, you will be reporting into an experienced and personable Finance Manager and your main duties will initially include but are not limited to the following:-

Key responsibilities of the role are:-

-Supporting in the production of monthly management accounts including journals, reconciliations and variance analysis
-Assisting in year end accounts
-Maintaining and updating control accounts including calculation of monthly accruals and prepayments
-Supporting on maintaining the fixed asset register
-Balance sheet reconciliations
-Analysis of credit card and cash expenses
-Reconciling data
-Assisting with the production of some statistics and analysis work
- Supporting and approving purchase ledger invoices

The ideal candidate will:-

- Have experience of working within a Finance team and will have a desire to progress within the industry
- Be ambitious and will want to develop
- Want to study AAT and either CIMA/ACCA
- Be looking to join a growing business that will allow you to progress whilst supporting your studies
- Have excellent IT skills, with strong Excel skills
- Be able to work within a fast paced environment
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Have excellent communication skills
