Role: Do you have previous experience in providing Professional Indemnity insurance? Do you have Underwriting experience? Are you looking for part-time or full-time work?

We currently have a unique and exciting opportunity for an Underwriter & Technical Broker to join our small speciality team based in Bristol. Your solid understanding, knowledge and expertise of professional indemnity will be at a technical level, being able to advise clearly and concisely to a mature book of clients. Your technical knowledge of professional indemnity and underwriting will be crucial to deliver the highest level of service to existing clientele.

You will be naturally customer focused with an empathetic and patient nature, as well as self-driven with a passion for delivering a golden service to clients. You will have an adaptable, resilient, and tolerant approach with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. You will have experience working within a regulated FCA environment, keeping abreast of any regulatory changes.

Location: Based in the centre of Bristol with parking onsite, our office is close to bus routes and Bristol Train Station.

Our Bristol office specialises solely in Professional Indemnity insurance working with a wide variety of clients including accountants, book-keepers, actuaries, architects, property and construction professionals, surveyors, and other professional services businesses and individuals.

We work closely with our clients to fully understand their businesses and to present their risk to insurers in a positive manner, ensuring their policy is suited to their individual needs and responds fully to all legitimate claims.

Responsibilities:

You will be servicing an existing accountant schemes with renewals and mid-term endorsements, issuing quotations for new business opportunities and policy documentation,
You will aim to increase revenue and grow the client base by identifying opportunities and writing new business, both on scheme and non-scheme, coupled with identifying cross-selling opportunities on existing business
You will provide a comprehensive claims handling service to clients on the scheme and support on non-scheme claims, liaising with insurer claims departments, clients, and solicitors,
You will be involved in the production of accurate monthly bordereaux for scheme business to present to insurers and MI production, analysis and reporting, liaising with the Insurer on delegated authority matters, producing quarterly accountant scheme bordereaux and checking commission payments,
You will carry out scheme file reviews and undertake any necessary remedial actions,
Resolving scheme account queries, you will also be advising customers of their insurance and risk management needs, updating them on current professional indemnity trends,

Experience:

You will have proven underwriting experience, technical knowledge and understanding of professional indemnity insurance, a broad understanding of the insurance market, and excellent understanding of principles and practice of insurance,
You will have an empathetic, customer focus nature, with ability to build excellent rapport with our more mature clientele,
You will be computer literate with good experience of using MS Office Suit - basic level of MS Excel,
You will have solid administrative experience, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail,
You will be highly organised being able to manage workloads and prioritise, and be self-motivated with the ability to work independently within a small team of one to two people,
You will have excellent communication skills both verbal and written,
You will be Cert CII qualified, or working towards a Diploma (desirable but not essential),
You will have experience of working within a Regulated FCA environment,
