I am working with a South West England authority that is looking to bolster their looked after children & Leaving care services, my client is looking for qualified social workers who would like an opportunity to grow with the social care industry and will actually look to provide you with the opportunity to further your career.
Investment recently to bring down caseloads, hiring extra people instead of replacing them - long term vision and plan to improve authority Recent senior hires, with a track record in turning a council around. OFSTED was not good recently, however this presents the opportunity to be a part of change for the better and helping an authority really improve its service to children & families, due to these investments your case load will be a manageable 16-20 cases.
As a Social worker you will be working with children in care and supporting them to make a successful transition to adulthood. Building a good relationship with the young person and ensuring that their views are heard. Completing assessments, care plans, family time reviews and visits in timescales. Additional tasks may include risk meetings, safety plans and transitions to new placements or semi independent living.
If you are successful for this position you will only be working with children between the ages of 11 and 25 as you are aware this is the age when children need to be guided the most meaning you will be directly involved in a child's development into adulthood.
