QTS / Instructor- Secondary Media Teacher needed urgently in Castle Bromwich

We have a fantastic opportunity at a Birmingham Pupil Referral Unit for a SEND Media QTS/ Instructor, who has a drive for delivering quality teaching, with careful consideration of the pupils needs. The role we are looking to fill is a substitute position with the potential of a long-term role working within Secondary class' of students with Challenging Behaviour, MLD/SLD from KS3 to KS5.

The school prides itself on and individualistic approach to teaching their students, with small class sizes and a high student to Teacher/ LSA ratio. The school boasts an excellent support network for any new staff members, this is very much a learning environment that gives back what you put in for fellow staff and students.

If you have strong leadership abilities alongside thoughtful interpersonal skills with staff and students, this school will be a perfect fit for you. They are looking for a staff preferably with a strong history of teaching Media. We are seeking someone who has knowledge of the national curriculum and can implement it effectively. The school would value any Team Teach, MAPA or Manual Handling Training; although the number of instances at the school is low and their will be fellow staff able to support , it may allow you to feel more secure in the class knowing you are able to fully manage the SEND needs that the school caters to. Other beneficial training or courses include knowledge of First Aid and in-depth knowledge of Health and Safety within a classroom environment.

You will need:

A Degree level in teaching/ PGCE or equivalent.
At least 6 months experience in the classroom
A passion to work with SEND students
The ability to deliver curriculum on a one on one and group environment.
