CARING FOR PEOPLE - KEEPING PEOPLE WELL

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (the UHB) is a Smoke Free Health Board. Smoking is banned across all of the UHB sites. Staff are therefore not able to smoke in the hospital grounds or on any other UHB premises.

Care of the Older person is a specialty within Medicine offering many rewarding opportunities and a great learning environment to consolidate as a newly Registered Nurse.
Ward East 7 at University Hospital Llandough specialises in providing holistic high quality individualised care for the older person with acute medical needs, complex pathologies and rehabilitation goals.
We can offer you;

• Support from a Professional Development Nurse to guide you through your personalised career progression pathway
• Training in relevant clinical skills through structured study days and ward based action learning
• Opportunities to work with the wider multidisciplinary team and a range of specialist teams from primary care, secondary care and third sector providers
• Development of your interpersonal and communication skills with patients, carers and private and public sector colleagues
• Experience that enhances fundamental nursing skills to develop you as a holistic practitioner with expertise in areas such as patient assessment and discharge planning

12 hour shifts for both day and night shifts however other shorter shift patterns will be considered

 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
