About the role

  • The role of Transactional Finance Assistant (Accounts Payable) Clerk role is to manage the end to end accounts payable process for vendors, establishing and building strong relationships both internally and externally to ensure excellent levels of communication. The role will also ensure the accurate entry of invoices and credit notes in the agreed SLA times to ensure vendors are paid to term.

Key responsibilities (will include, but not limited to)

  • Follow Discount Vendor process to ensure discounts are taken correctly.
  • Monitor and ensure parked invoices are released to meet supplier terms for payment on time. Ensuring no recurrent issues.
  • Participate in Projects to drive change and efficiencies, including automation of invoices, purchase ledger workshops.
  • Weekly meeting with supervisor to discuss Aged Creditors, GRNI, Payment Practice Report.
  • Complete statement reconciliations and resolve reconciling items to ensure accounts are paid on time, preventing accounts from going on stop.
  • Continually review and report recurrent issues that cause inefficiencies or jeopardise vendors being paid on time.
  • Ensure Queries and overdue accounts are managed and resolved quickly as to prevent business critical situations, escalating in accordance with SLA’s.

About your experience

  • This role would suit an individual who can demonstrate the ability to react quickly to situations and deliver at pace, whilst ensuring business critical situations are prevented. This is a busy process driven role, accuracy and attention to detail must be met at all times.

Skills Required

  • You will possess strong PC skills and must be competent in using Microsoft Packages including Excel and Word.
  • You must be well organised and have the ability to prioritise your own workload.
  • You will have good interpersonal skills with a confident ability to communicate both internally and externally.
  • Be flexible and able to cross train to provide support in all areas of the Accounts Payable function.
  • SAP ECC Experience
  • Competence in statement reconciliations to audit standard.
  • Understanding or Account payable practices and function.
  • Attention to detail.
