We have a fantastic opportunity for a Transport Planning Trainee here at Isle of Man Transport.
About the role and our team
You’ll work with the Transport Planning Manager to learn our scheduling programmes and how to be an efficient and practical bus/driver scheduler. You’ll also learn how to alter and amend routes, timetables and crew duties to accommodate road closures and diversions. In addition, you’ll assist in the preparation of customer information and in undertaking data analysis related to the service.
Playing a key role in our team, you’ll help us to strive for an even more efficient and successful operation.
No prior experience is required for this role, and you’ll receive full training on the job. As much of our work is customer facing, experience of dealing with customers and of providing great customer service would be advantageous. Attention to detail is key in this role, as your work will involve the creation of accurate and timetables and schedules.
A full driving licence is essential for this role, as there is a requirement for travelling around the island.

This is a great opportunity for learning and development. We can help you to grow, enhance your skillset, and provide you with training and experience.
While a large portion of this training will be related to buses, there are many synergies with the islands heritage railways and so there will be some training relating to the planning, timetabling and staffing of the railways.
There will also be the opportunity to learn to drive a bus (full training will be given) to fully appreciate our public transport network, as this greatly assists in effective transport planning.
