Data Protection Trainee in London

4 - 40 hours per week

We have a fantastic opportunity

for a Data Protection Trainee to work alongside our Data Protection Governance team and external Data Protection Officer, providing support and assistance on a number of key privacy priorities and activities.

The role is fast paced and varied, it will suit candidates who are commercially savvy, business focused and have excellent attention to detail. This is a true opportunity to make your mark within an expanding agency.

You will receive ongoing training throughout, both from the teams within ARM, its Data Protection Officer, and external educators, to enable you to develop and enhance your current skills, learn new skills, and develop your privacy knowledge and experience through a broad range of tasks.

Responsibilities
Support the Data Protection Governance Team and Data Protection Officer by assisting with

Data protection queries and activities from within ARM, its clients and suppliers
Data protection impact assessments

Privacy and data protection due diligence
Privacy-related projects
Privacy notice management
Risk management
Service-related privacy demands
Maintenance of data mapping processes

Requirements

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally at a media agency.
  • Fast, willing learner with demonstrable attention to detail
  • Effective team worker
  • Ability to learn data protection requirements, then assist Governance Team to apply them to ensure ARM compliance
  • Motivated to learn from others and develop data protection skill set
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure, to strict deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience of dealing with clients and suppliers
  • Clear communicator
  • Questioning nature to contribute to effective identification of issues, their investigation and potential resolution
  • Some technical knowledge is an advantage
  • A self-motivated, clear thinking, analytic, systematic and organised individual
  • Some knowledge of the DPA 2018, PECR, GDPR and upcoming ePrivacy Regulation
