Are you an aspiring teacher
Would you like to start your journey now by undertaking a tutor role in a school before working towards Qualified Teacher Status?
Does the idea of training in a supportive and innovative school with inspirational leadership sound like your ideal environment?
The Role
This unique role will see you tutoring students in KS3-4 in English and Maths as you support them to achieve their potential. You will establish trust quickly and design learning interventions that will help break down barriers to learning for target students. You will become a role model, building effective working relationships with students and staff and report regularly to class teachers to monitor and evaluate student progress.
This role is ideal for someone that is aspiring to teach and train on the job, through school-based teacher training, as opposed to university based PGCE. For the rest of this academic year, you will play a vital role in ensuring this cohort of pupils achieve their target grades so they can head towards bright futures. Next academic year, you will have the opportunity to train to teach in your degree subject.
Progression opportunities in this school are endless. Senior Leaders are extremely supportive and keen to develop raw talent into their ‘Outstanding’ teachers of the future. Teachers report high job satisfaction and pupils clearly enjoy going to this school as is evident from the calm and studious atmosphere as you walk around the school.
The school benefits from a new build which the students are extremely proud of. The school’s make up is diverse, welcoming pupils from all walks of life and from different backgrounds, making this a vibrant, energetic and exciting place to begin your career in teaching.
To be successful in this role you must have a strong academic record, a genuine interest in training to teach through school-based teacher training and the desire to work flexibly to give vital support in the school where needed.
