Job description

We are looking for an experienced clinical psychologist to join our expanding team at the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research based at the Isis Education centre on the Warneford Site in Oxford for maternity cover.

We are particularly interested in candidates with knowledge, skills and experience in Systemic Therapy.

The core duties of this post are:

  • In collaboration with the Directorate team and the Systemic Lead to support and oversee the Systemic Foundation Course which was accredited by AFT in June 2020 as well as to support the year 2 and 3 systemic courses on both the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology and, when they are developed, the CPD units which open the courses to a range of professional groups.
  • To facilitate and appraise the development of Systemic Therapy competence of trainees to achieve Foundation and, if appropriate, Intermediate accreditation with the Association of Family Therapy.
  • To support the Systemic Lead in overseeing all aspects of the Systemic Therapy elements of the course to prepare trainees for work within modern health and social care services.
  • To contribute to the development of the academic and clinical aspects of Systemic courses.
  • To be involved with contributing to broader aspects of the Doctoral programme including research and individual research supervision.
  • In the role of Course Tutor, to line manage a number of trainees from all three years, and to oversee their clinical and academic development throughout their training, including meetings with their clinical placement supervisors.
  • For appointees, the opportunity to provide high-quality clinical services in the context of the Oxford Health Specialist Psychological Interventions Clinic in addition to this post can be considered. That would involve ensuring the systematic provision of a high-quality and highly specialised CBT assessment and treatment. To work with other staff in the clinic to ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical activity.
