Home Instead is the world's leading provider of non-medical companionship based care in the community and has over 160+ offices nationwide. The Welwyn & Hatfield office is now looking to recruit additional people to join our fabulous team of CAREGivers who look after our elderly client's in their own homes within their community.

We are looking to recruit CAREGivers to enable us to grow and face the challenges that 2021 will no doubt bring. We are facing those challenges with confidence because we know that our CAREGivers are highly trained, exceptionally skilled, and really do pour their heart and soul into the caring of our elderly clients.

We look after people who reside in the following locations : Borehamwood, Brookmans Park, Hatfield, Potters Bar, Welham Green, Welwyn and Welwyn Garden City and are looking to recruit part-time staff who can travel within these area's.

It is essential that you have your own 'car', this is because we work in the community and travel between people's homes, and are not just going to one destination daily - This is non-negotiable.

Job Description

Big smiles do matter to the elderly clients we care for and so does practical help to enable them to live a fuller more productive life and enjoy each and every day. Our CAREGivers assist and support our clients with:

Personal Care - Helping to wash and dress, to go to the toilet, and help change continence pads and ensure catheters are not causing trouble. Life would be much tougher without the help of Home Instead CAREGivers.

Home Help - To help prepare quality meals, light housework (hoovering, dusting, washing up). Shopping, collecting prescriptions accompanying to important appointments.

Companionship - Nothing better than a cup of tea and a nice chat about life, or perhaps a walk when the weather is nice, a game of cards or reading a favourite book. All of these things make life enjoyable and worth living.

Qualifications

A CAR is ESSENTIAL - you will be working in the community and travelling between clients daily, also taking the clients out and 'ferrying' them to important appointments, it cannot be done by public transport.

We do not look for any specific academic qualifications but do look for hard working and reliable candidates who are happy to undertake our Award Winning Training programme and who understand that training is on-going and we will Continually Professionally Develop your skills throughout your career with Home Instead.

We also insist that you have clear concise verbal communication skills, our clients may have hearing loss or Dementia and it is imperative they understand what you are communicating.
