Graduate Business Analyst - Owner Driver Payments
Job Description
Our Head of Internal Audit is currently recruiting for a Business Analyst - Owner Driver Payments, based at Smethwick to help strengthen our team and help us achieve ever-greater heights.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
Working closely with Owner Driver Department management to ensure owner drivers (of whom there are over 12,000 at present) are correctly paid for collection and delivery activity (only paid for legitimate deliveries, at the correct rates - circa £30m of owner driver payments are made every 4 weeks)
Assess / investigate known owner driver payment issues / risks, identifying appropriate solutions, and then working alongside owner driver management in order to implement
Actively seeking out new areas of risk in respect of owner driver payments, putting forward suitable solutions, and then working alongside owner driver management in order to implement
Critically analysing all existing owner driver payment processes (to assess for the risk of owner driver overpayment or underpayment), identifying control weaknesses, and subsequently working with management to put in place remedial actions
Dealing swiftly with any escalated owner driver payment related issues / risks
To assist with any other reasonable work requirements, as requested by the Head of Internal Audit
As the successful candidate you will be educated to Degree Level (or equivalent)
Due to the nature of the role, the ability to present numerical data in a manner which is clear, succinct, and easy to digest, is essential. Proficiency in Excel and having high levels of numerical competency are also critical.
Alongside this we would also expect you to:
Have the ability to process large volumes of data
Have excellent communication and rapport building skills and be able to communicate effectively at all levels
Possess strong analytical and presentation skills and be accurate in all calculations and reporting
Display commercial and financial awareness
Possess a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Self-manage your workload and prioritise tasks according to deadlines, importance and urgency
Have a desire to resolve problems, including thinking outside the box
