What are you going to do:
Business Development Executive
We’re a boutique trade distributor that curates the most exciting food & drink brands for the independent retail sector. Our customers are the loveliest people: owners of independent farm shops, modern grocers and delis across the country who all need help filling their shelves with great food and drink products.
We’re expanding! Since lockdown began, more and more people are shopping local, which means our independent delis and farm shops need more outstanding products to fill their shelves. Our business has doubled month on month and now, we need someone energetic with a great, can-do attitude to join our team.
We’re a small, close knit team based in London and our carbon positive, organic warehouse is based in Essex. At the moment, we’re all working remotely from home but we keep in touch throughout the day via Slack and Zoom.
What will you be doing?
- Actively growing turnover and identifying new business opportunities
- Driving the sales process and generating sales over the phone and by email
- Taking care of our existing customers and maintaining strong personal relationships
- Managing our CRM system and keeping information up to date (training will be provided)
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone passionate about people, food and supporting independent businesses. If you’ve got a great entrepreneurial spirit and love building relationships with the loveliest independent grocers, delis and farm shops, we’d love to hear from you.
In particular, we’re looking for someone who is:
- Great at making an impression on the phone and loves chatting to new people
- A proactive self starter who loves being busy and thinking on your feet
- A fast problem solver who thrives on giving your customers the best experience
- Tech savvy - comfortable using web apps, email and social media
- Goal driven and focused on meeting sales targets
Ideal but not essential:
- Experience in working in the food & drink industry
- Experience working in fast paced customer-facing roles
