Head of Operations – Major new Hedge Fund (Pre-launch) – Junior preferred to step up – Equity stake
Head of Operations – Major new Hedge Fund (Pre-launch) – Junior preferred to step up – Equity stake
Job description
A major new 2021 hedge fund launch are looking to hire a Head of Operations ahead of its launch / build out.
Reporting directly in to the HOO. The focus is to ‘take the weight’ off the COO, complement/cover the CFO where possible and act as a true HOO for the firm.
This is a hands-on role, broad in nature and with lots of challenges. You will be encouraged to contribute ideas / you will play a key role in the build out, development and expansion of the firm pre and post launch. Given the nature of the firm, project work will form a key part of the remit (tech implementations, improvements, automation, maintenance / troubleshooting etc.).
We are looking for an existing hedge fund senior operations analyst or operations manager to step up into the role. The build out of the operations function will take a while, hence why the focus is on hiring an individual at this level that can successfully carry out hands-on daily BAU tasks (rather than a more experienced individual that will potentially be focused on managing a growing team). That said, we are not necessarily discounting existing HOO’s.
As this is a new launch, the hire can expect a good comp structure, however until performance & fees are realised, potential candidates shouldn’t apply for this role expecting to make large compensation over the first 12months especially. The trade-off is that the hire will be offered an equity stake in the firm, which could in time become incredibly lucrative.
