The London Hairdressing Apprenticeship Academy, now part of the Learning Curve Group, are recruiting for a part-time Barbering Tutor to support learners in our state of the art academy in Croydon. This is a permanent opportunity working Monday and Wednesday evenings, delivering to one cohort of learners two evenings a week.
Croydon opened in September 2017 and has 2 salons totalling 42 hairdressing columns and two fully equipped training room for the delivery of hairdressing and barbering theory. Many of our staff at Croydon are Rush Hair trained and are highly skilled and talented hairdressers and barbers and have a passion for hairdressing.
Pulling on your own expertise, you will be responsible for delivering and assessing the Barbering NVQ and Barbering Diploma programmes to LHAA Apprenticeship and Adult learners. By placing them at the centre of everything you do, you will help them succeed and achieve outstanding learning and assessment outcomes.
Learners are at the centre of everything we do so we are committed to safeguarding and promoting their welfare. If applicable, the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check, provide satisfactory references and prove their eligibility to work in the UK.
We are currently recruiting for a Hairdressing Educator to join the business on a part time basis working 12 hours a week, the working days and times are as follows:
Mondays and Wednesdays 4.30pm - 9.30 pm teaching.
Essential Criteria
- Educated to Level 2 or above in Mathematics & English
- Assessor qualified, A1, TAQA, CAVA, or D32, D33
- Recognised teaching or training qualification at level 3 or above
- Level 2 & 3 qualifications in Barbering
- Experience within an Assessor / trainer or teaching role working with learners of all ages for a minimum of 1 year
- Strong communication skills
- Understanding of e-portfolios
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing as an effective team member
