Contract Length: Temporary – Minimum of 15 weeks and may be extended, subject to requirement.
Expected Start Date: Batch 1: 12 April 2021; Batch 2: 19 April 2021; Batch 3: 26 Apr 2021.
Normal hours of work: Minimum 35.0 per week (shift work – day or night).
What you’ll learn & achieve:
The Intern / Technician will be responsible for performing chargeable work through testing and report writing. Full training will be given along with procedure(s) for test methodology.
Responsibilities
- To undertake chargeable testing, to help in part of report writing and other consulting duties.
- The Technician should be able to perform with minimum supervision once training is completed and should be able to tackle problems in a systematic way.
- To update the company work monitoring systems with accurate details and job status for each item of work for which the Technician is responsible.
- Meet customer delivery requirements in all respects.
- To undertake any ad hoc duties as may be required.
- Any other duties as defined in the UL Staff Handbook and the Quality Control Manual.

- Ideal candidate would be someone who is keen to work for an international company such as UL, to explore the experience of corporate business.
- Should be willing to learn new technical concepts and implement them.
- Desirable: basic understanding of RF Communication method, Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) test method.
- Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
- IT skills: basic knowledge of Word, Excel would be ideal.
- Flexible to work in one of the following shift (subject to change), working 3 days ON and 3 days OFF:
- Day Shift – 06:30 AM to 7:00 PM
- Night Shift – 06:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- Including working on weekends on a rotating shift pattern is also required.
