Junior Trade Support Analyst with Boutique Hedge Fund

Job description

Our client is a $1 billion Hedge Fund with a very strong 20+ track record, never having a down year during this time. You’ll be joining a fairly lean team of 20 people, with 3 others in the trade support function of the business. As such, there is a lot of good exposure to be gained working in this role as you will interact with all teams on a daily basis. They place a strong emphasis on technology and automating a lot of the processes, so certainly a good opportunity to learn and develop new skills in VBA/Python.

 

This is a relatively urgent hire for the team so would suit a candidate who is immediately available or maximum of one month’s notice.

 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Trade lifecycle management including Corporate Action processing
  • Assist with trade booking and affirmation
  • Reconciliation of positions/trades/cash to the Prime Broker
  • First point of contact for all trade related queries from all stakeholders including Traders, Executing Brokers, Prime Brokers and Fund Administrators
  • Calculate and analyse the firm’s daily P&L
  • Static data
  • Ad-hoc projects as required

 


The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • Fluency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Degree educated in a subject such as Finance, Economics, Maths etc.
  • Coding experience desired but not a prerequisite
  • Ambition, energy, passion and interest in the industry
  • Strong motivation to achieve
  • Desire for continuous improvement in themselves and the role they will be performing
  • Inquisitive attitude to continuously increase their knowledge
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Ability to learn tasks quickly and process information fast and under pressure
