Job Description
An opportunity exists for junior banker to join UK team and support the Lead International Banker. The successful candidate will have prior experience working in Coverage Banking with a detailed knowledge of the core and specialist products used by large corporate clients. Will be appointed to:
- Contribute to driving business development of U.K & European Global Clients operating in Africa, with new and existing customers across a range of multinational corporate accounts
- Parent coverage: Working with the U.K and European relationship directors and country relationship managers to prepare professional marketing material demonstrating product knowledge, appropriate research skills and insight into solutions to meet customers’ needs; assist the Relationship team in covering the parent decision-makers, monitoring progress on business initiatives and ensuring regular contact is maintained.
- Drive the follow-up of opportunities identified, through to execution (initial conversation through to KYC / onboarding - Account opening – transactional flow)
- Develop practical and appropriate knowledge of African product capabilities and be able to liaise with internal Product and Credit stakeholders
- Monitor and control nominated client accounts, developing a knowledge of the African business being conducted with these clients and maintaining an accurate database in this respect
- Assist in business & client planning, customer acquisition and coverage strategy
- Use client and internal Management information to produce client analytics and insights that enable business development
As this is a UK based position it is critical that successful candidate has the legal right to work in the United Kingdom. High level of commercial awareness and ability to manage senior stakeholder relationships essential.
