Are you a newly qualified Psychologist who enjoys supporting people with learning disabilities to create meaningful change? Situated in Wellington, Wellesley Hospital is surrounded by the beautiful Somerset countryside, with close access to beaches and only 30 minutes’ drive from Bristol and Exeter.
Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will provide care to men and women with learning disabilities and/or autism in brand-new service. Wellesley Hospital has an establish purpose-built mental health service with low and medium secure environments.
You will be a part of a vibrant and enthusiastic psychology department, you will collaboratively provide risk assessments, psychometric assessments, individual and group interventions. You will also facilitate staff reflective practice sessions, deliver training, provide supervision and undertake research.
As a qualified psychologist, you will have experience in managing complex clinical work, including assessments and delivering specialist psychological treatments to support collaborative working and recovery.
Providing input into the new, specialist learning disability service you'll be a part of an environment where there is a strong emphasis on teamwork and positive risk-taking. Experience in risk and psychometric assessments and therapy and group work would be an advantage, however, full training can be provided.
