Find out more about this role by reading the information below, then apply to be considered.
Salary: £56,060-£64,405 per annum, including London Weighting Allowance
Business unit: Social Science & Public Policy
Department: International School for Government
Strand Campus
The incoming Head of Business Development will take up a senior role in the leadership team of the ‘ISfG’, developing and delivering a marketing and sales strategy for the School’s expanding educational offering. The position will be primarily externally focused and customer-facing, requiring a strong relationship management approach.
The first of its kind in the UK, the International School for Government has established new models of teaching, learning, analysis and engagement since its founding in June 2018, ensuring that policymakers of the future are well-equipped to navigate emerging societal challenges and helping to improve the effectiveness of the public sector.
Led by Hon. Alexander Downer AC, former Australian Foreign Minister and High Commissioner to the UK, the School is currently midway through an exciting period of expansion, and this role will be front-and-centre in this push for new opportunities. As such, the role is responsible for enabling the ISfG to meet its bold revenue targets and for building an excellent brand internationally.
The School will accordingly require a highly experienced individual with knowledge of the policy sector in the UK (and preferably internationally) and who understands the contribution of continuing professional development and executive education. The postholder will have a proven track record of success in a business development or a fundraising role and will boast well-developed and demonstrable sales acumen.
King’s College London operates a Hub and Spoke model of Professional Education and business development activity, with King’s Professional and Executive Development (KPED) acting as an enabling hub supporting all nine KCL faculties. This role within the ISFG will work collaboratively with KPED to establish pipeline management and key metric for income generation in line with the King’s strategic vision.
This post will be offered on a full-time, fixed term contract for 3 years.
