We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join our National Careers Service team as part of our next Trainee Careers Adviser Programme, starting in September 2021.

We would like to hear from you if you:

  • Can confidently communicate with people on an individual or group basis, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can inspire and support others to achieve their ambitions.
  • Have a collaborative approach and can build relationships with customers and partners.
  • Have excellent IT skills and can use social media.
  • Can organise your time and work methodically.
  • Have access to your own vehicle and a full driving license.
  • Have the motivation and ability to complete a professional Level 4 training route.

Experience of working in an employability or education support, retail or customer service role would be advantageous.

As a Trainee Careers Adviser you will:

  • Undertake an intensive induction to bring you up to speed with our work and the skills required to be a successful Careers Adviser.
  • Receive training to deliver group work and 1-2-1 interviews with our customers.
  • Benefit from extensive work shadowing and practical experience, learning on the job.
  • Be supported to get to know your local area, the needs of our customers and the partners we work with.
  • Over the course of 18 months be supported to complete professional training to become a qualified Careers Adviser.
