Digital Health and Care Wales is an ambitious organisation created by Welsh Government to lead on the digital transformation of health and care. It builds on the digital architecture and national services put in place by the NHS Wales Informatics Service over the past decade.

The organisation will lead on large-scale developments that make a significant difference to the people of Wales as well as to health and care professionals, such as expansion of the digital patient record and the creation of a National Data Resource. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the new Special Health Authority (SHA); Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW), to join the Operational Services Development (OSD) Team (ICT Directorate).

If so, we're recruiting a Project Support Manager who will be responsible for the successful delivery of smaller national projects and, or complex programme work streams, ensuring milestones are achieved and delivered to the required standard of quality.

 

You will play a pivotal part in ensuring the coordination and implementation of organisational and national critical projects and programmes across the IM&T Infrastructure portfolio including:

 

  • Cloud Adoption: Transitioning services and systems to the Cloud
  • Cyber Security: Effective and robust processes to protects from the threat of security vulnerabilities
  • Data Centre Transition (DCT): Maintaining and transforming infrastructure capabilities, efficiency and performance
  • Hardware Lifecycle Management: Hardware and software replacement and decommission
  • Systems Resilience: Ability to maintain services to the end user in the event of disruption or a failure

 

Your initial focus will be to support the replacement and decommission of SQL and Windows Server 2008 Legacy Operating Systems as part of the wider Hardware Lifecycle Management Programme but there will also be opportunities to get involved in a number of other national projects within the remit of the team.

You should have experience and knowledge of methodologies and techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects to provide efficient and effective support to the various demands arising within the team.

 

Working to tight timescales you will demonstrate the ability to successfully support the OSD Team and deliver outcomes to meet the team and directorates objectives aligned to the organisational Business Plan.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with project management skills wishing to work at the National level or who aspire to become a National Project Manager.

 

The successful applicant must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrable experience of being a confident communicator, able to confidently discuss complex information in an understandable way.

 

The successful applicant will understand and appreciate the necessity for data analysis and quality assurance when receiving and providing information with the ability to confidently discuss complex and technical information in an understandable way.

 

The successful applicant must have excellent planning and organisational skills and be able to demonstrate their ability to handle change, manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.

 

The ideal candidate should be a pro-active self-starter, used to working in a fast paced environment, who is keen to hit the ground running, with a strong desire to get the job done and demonstrate the skills required to effectively support multiple projects simultaneously.

 

Exceptional computer skills including Microsoft Office are essential to undertaking this role and would be enhanced by experience of using M0365 Applications. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
