We are looking for a Team Leader to join our dynamic and innovative School Nursing Team. You will need to be exemplary in practice and the post holders will provide effective leadership to the School Nurse team across the community sites. Through sound understanding of the Healthy Child Program 5-19 and the ability to work within an environment of change management. You will lead the team in ensuring that children and young people and their families in the community have access to appropriate information on how to contact the School Nurse universal services provided. You will be responsible for the management of caseloads ensuring the provision of high standards of nursing care to the school age population and their families through the monitoring and implementation of effective processes. You will have a clinical component to your role and this is expected to be around 40%.

The post holder would also be expected to work with the School Nursing team to meet all the service performance targets. The role requires an ability to be an autonomous practitioner, in addition the ability to lead and work as a practitioner in multi-disciplinary teams. You will be supported through regular supervision by your line manager.

We are dedicated to developing practice, having been part of GSTT Care Redesign and we continue to work with the expertise of the Evelina Quality Improvement team.

The school nursing team has successfully implemented agile working using mobile devices and established “Chathealth”, a confidential texting service and a single point of access for school nursing. With mobile devices, staff have the opportunity to work flexibly in the community while being a crucial part of the healthcare team.
