My client is a London based charity who are currently seeking a Part-Time Finance Manager to join their team on a permanent basis for three or four days per week. Reporting into the CEO, you will be responsible for the financial management of the charity, including providing leadership to a small team and influencing the ongoing development of their long-term strategic plans.

The key duties and responsibilities of this Part-Time Finance Manager role are as follows:

• Full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the finance department, including the production of the management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Take the lead in the development of the charity’s annual budget for review by the senior management team.
• Business partner with a variety of stakeholders across the charity to help them manage their budgets and support on any finance-related queries.
• Have key oversight of the payroll process, ensuring all changes have correctly been accounted for and that all payments are made in a timely fashion.
• Play a key role in the development and maintenance of the charity’s long term financial plan.
• Act as the key contact for the External Auditors at year end and present the final reports to management.

This Part-Time Finance Manager role is the perfect opportunity for someone with previous experience in management accounts who is looking to take a step up into a role with line management responsibility and exposure to working with senior audiences. You can expect to work flexibly as this role will be offered on a hybrid working basis, so applicants must live within a commutable distance from their offices in central London.  

The successful candidate will have:

• Ideally, part qualified as an accountant, but this is by no means essential.
• Demonstrable experience of producing management accounts.
• Experience producing annual budgets.
• Preferably a background working in the charity sector. However, candidates without this are still strongly encouraged to apply.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
