Remote, Part-time English Language Proofreader (English Student)
This part-time proofreading role is ideal for an English Language (or similar) student. It will focus on proofreading product updates, documents and marketing materials before they reach our customers.

About Research Grid
Research Grid (R.grid) is a technology start-up, headquartered in London, focused on clinical research efficiency and patient engagement in research. We use artificial intelligence to streamline administrative medical research processes. We have two cloud-based platforms: one for clinical research teams (R.grid), and the other for community engagement in research (Inclusive).
About the role
This part-time role will primarily focus on proactively reading, identifying and correcting any English errors throughout our products, documents, and marketing materials before updates are made public or deployed to production for our customers to read. This role may also require support with summarising technical wording to lay English or labelling certain words and phrases as required.
About you
Due to the nature of this role, excellent high-level English proficiency is required. This is an ideal opportunity for an English Language (or similar) student looking for a part-time role. The successful candidate will have an excellent eye for detail, particularly grammatical errors, time-management and organisational skills.
Schedule: Part-time, ~10-15 hours per week (ad hoc) - Schedule agreed ahead of employment.
Pay: £10 - £12 p/h
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Reading and reviewing English text and content across all R.grid products and documents
- Correcting English grammar and spelling errors
- Suggest improvements to text in products and customer-facing documentation
- Minor copywriting/content creation
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Undergraduate/Postgraduate in English Language or closely related subject
- Able to demonstrate excellent English language proficiency
- Excellent attention to detail
- Highly organised
- Able to take instruction and work independently and proactively
Nice to have
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Tutor or Degree in English
